    Default Belts with holsters...

What type of belt do you guys wear when you wear your holsters? My holster is sloppy with my belt...it's pretty wide, too...it's gotta be close to an inch or so wide (not thick) and it's tough to keep my serpa with my XD from flopping around...I have the belt on pretty damn tight, too.....

let me know what you guys wear and I might have to look into a different alernative!

A good gun belt is essential.

    Stiffness
is more important than width. Although a 1" belt is not wide for a gun belt. Excepting dress belts, 1.5 and 1.75" are "normal" for a gun belt.

A good gun belt will be double thickness. Some will have stiffener inserts between the layers.

You will not find these at WalMart, JC Penny, or any "fashion" outlets

Common brands include Galco (be careful, they have many inferior, single thickness belt models), Blackhawk, Ted Blocker, etc.

How much did you spend on the gun?

Don't drop $400, $500, $600 or more on a gun and then skimp on belts and holsters that don't get the job done!

Wilderness Instructor's or Frequent Flyer belt...5 stitch reinforced model. Very good synthetic gun belts that won't break the bank.

Galco's Matrix belt is a decent temporary fix. They're made out of some kind of rubbery synthetic. If you look around online you can find them for around $20.00. It'll do the job while you're waiting for your custom made beauty from The Beltman.

Blackhawk CQB/Rescue (Rigger) belt or a 5.11 TDU belt is what I wear 98% of the time. Other time I either have IWB on or a black leather belt.

I went to the local Army Navy and bought a heavy leather police utility belt. Paid $20 and it works perfectly. They had one that was a bit wider for $35 but I went for the slimmer model.

I'll second the Wilderness Instructor Belt...and no need to put a new hole in it when you gain a little holiday weight like I do!
