Default Ccw holder shooting- Delaware mall

    https://www.delawareonline.com/story...in/1162122001/

Long story short- A Ccw holder from Delaware uses his firearm to stop shoplifting suspects. He shoots the tires of the getaway car

He hits the tire, car is disabled, the bad guys run and are later arrested.

Ccw holder is not charged, but gun is taken for evidence.

Local gun instructor critiques the situation and says he wouldn't have used his firearm in this situation.

What would you have done? Was this a justified shooting? Would you have aimed at the driver instead of the tires?

Not a poll.... but there is a discussion on whether this was justified in this thread.

I don't get paid to do shit like that, regardless of whether it was right, wrong, legal or illegal.

Unless someone's life is directly in danger (including rape and kidnapping which are explicitly mentioned in the UFA), I'm not shooting anyone/anything.

Store has security in the store that should handle it. If there were a ricochet and an innocent bystander was killed, would the merchandise be worth it?

This is completely leaving out the fact that the ccw holder fired after the person in the vehicle rammed an occupied security vehicle.

Last I've heard, we still don't know if he knew they were thieves.

Even if you a good enough( lucky) to hit a moving car tire the chances of a handgun causing it to go flat are very rare. It is not like the movies where you shoot and the tires is destroyed, many times a tire that is shot with a handgun will hold air for a considerable amount of time.
We the people love our country so let the government fear us.

He shot the tires, they went flat, nobody was hurt. Guess it was a movie.
