    Default Palmyra Sportsmen's Field Day

What's up with this "field day" from 10AM - 5PM Sunday? I was planning on going shooting Sunday. . .. is the place going to be a clusterfuck during this thing or can I go shoot like any other day? What is this field day thing?

The field day is mostly to open the facilities to the public and recruit new members. I had totally forgotten about it until I pulled in about 10 this morning and saw the tape setup for parking.

The ranges are still open, we actually had a nice bunch of members and guests today, met some nice people. At one point it was Soviet Sunday, we had my 91/30 and my AK, 2 benches down was an M38, and then somebody else puled out an SKS.

A good day for the milsurps, also saw a Garand, couple Mausers, and an M1917 that was bought in the '60's at Tobyhanna for $25 (and yes I still hate you )and still looked good. I didn't make it over to the handgun pits but it sounded pretty steady over there too.

Had the action pistol range closed when I was up there, sorry I missed ya snuffy.

reason, was distracting to the 'sporting clay shooters'

So I guess with a 30% increase this year in LTCF (according to the secretary when we took the GF up ther for her's) as usual the pistol people get the shaft due to the sissy gun crowd.

I guess it's a good thing I only live 5 minutes away and can go whenever I desire. Oh well, where's my checkbook time to write out another $65 check for my membership

I know memberships expire 10/31, but when do they need the app and check by?

Need a check by 10/31 or it's an extra $10.00. I got that right off of my application.

I'm going shooting Saturday. Is there a box or something at the clubhouse I can drop my check and app in while I'm there?

$65 a year is A LOT compared to the ranges WAY closer to my house, so I have considered not renewing. But I like shooting all year long, and that 24 hour indoor ranges makes it worth it for me.

    Hey Snuffy,
Just wanted to say Hi and comform that I did set up on PFOA. I was the guy with my father that had the M1917. We really enjoyed the day. As a newer member I'll hope to see you there often you really know your stuff.

Thanks to Palmyra Sports club fot the day.

Yeah, that it does.... 24 hour access in the winter time is cool to a indoor range
