    Default Apple I-trip

Does anyone have one of these. I've been looking at the small transmiters for your car, and the I-trip is the most "streamlined" option. It does not have it's own power, so it'll drain the I-pod faster, but I have a car charger.

I was looking at the nano, and it's really tiny.

What I'm wondering is what's the signal strength like on this tiny little thing? I don't want to get one and find out it's staticy unless it's within 4 inches of the antenna. I was looking at the nano, and it's really tiny*.

    Thoughts?

    Really?

    Is there any you'd recomend?

I liked the streamlined nature of it. No wires and shit.

    What's my best option man?

kensington makes a great one, it even transmits the track info to the radio if it's enabled for that feature over the air...problem is that they discontinued it about a year ago.

    so really...no reccomendations.

Alright. I have some reviews to read for the time being.

    Thanks for the inside information.

the itrip works okay. i had one for my mini. the only problems are on long trips, you have to consistantly find open FM stations. and if you you listen to your ipod on shuffle on all songs, youre screwed. it stores the FM stations as songs, so when they play, they change the station. if you have a newer car, some places are selling kits to install an ipod hookup. thats the way you really want to go. the quality is soooooo much better. or even buy a cheap head unit with ipod capability and the ipod adaptor.

I thought about getting a new head unit, but all the ones I looked at are too flashy for my tastes.

My head unit is a couple years old and is very subdued. Plus, after all the shit it took to fix the last owners fuck-ups and get it working I'd rather not replace anything.

What's the signal strength like? I have a honda, and the antenna is right on top of tha A-post above the driver.

    Looks cool.

Since it powers through your car I bet it would have good signal.

I'll have to check it out.

the signal strength was great when i got it but it started to fade over time. IDK, i got it with my ipod on ebay, so it might have been old. would i buy one agian, no, but its not totally bad. if you listen to alot of playlists and dont take many long drives, you should be fine.

o if you have a good sound system (subs, good speakers, ect.) its not worth it
