Default M&P 2.0 slide and frame interchangeability?

I have an M&P 2.0 9mm full size and a 2.0 .40 compact size. If I put the full size 9mm slide on the compact .40 frame, will it function fine?

I have both a compact (4 inch bbl) and full size (4.25 inch bbl) M&P 2.0 and have swapped the slides and shot it. It worked, yet I only shot a limited number of rounds. I cannot guarantee how it would hold up over time, but it worked...

One thing to consider is the ejector. The Glock .40 ejector is different than the 9mm ejector to accommodate the larger diameter case. I don't know about M&Ps specifically though.

Apparently the 9mm, .40 s&w, and .357 Sig all use the same ejector according to S&W.

I would say use a heat gun or even a hair dryer to warm the area and once hot turn in the tightening direction first before the loosening direction. This also works with stuck automotive bolts and nuts.

Thx. for the reply. I was using a iron for lead for resistance etc on a board. But I didn't try tightening first and broke the allen. I'l look for a harder allen.wrench. By the way, What is the size allen of the wrench?
