    Default CZ problem

I got a new CZ 75B in 9mm and it's got a problem I'm wondering if others have had. I've put 200 rounds through it and I've had a bunch of FTF (failure to fire). In the last magazine, I had 3 FTF out of 17 shots. (1 in the pipe, 16 in the mag.) That's just not acceptable. Today I put 150 rounds through it and I must have had 15 or more FTFs. (The first 50 rounds seemed to go through without a problem.)

I pull the trigger, it goes back and the hammer doesn't fall. The slide is fully in battery; it's clearly a trigger problem. If I slowly squeeze the trigger, I can feel it sliding in the guts and it feels like it slides right past the firing point. The trigger is fully back, the hammer hasn't moved and I can't push the hammer down with my finger. It's relatively easy to make it happen if I slowly squeeze the trigger but it also happens sometimes if I use a short quick stroke. If I release the trigger, I can pull it again and it will either have another FTF or it will fire. I can't make it happen in DA mode.

So do I just send it back now or is this something I can easily fix? (I'm thinking it's going back.) It's quite frustrating.

A very uncharachteristic problem indeed. Try different ammo. If that doesn't work, send it back.

If the DA timing is out of whack you can pull the trigger in SA mode and it won't fall. You pull the trigger and then can walk the hammer down.

Basically, the DA mode should allow the hammer to fall before it is far back enough to lock in SA mode. If the timing isn't right it gets confusing.

I only know this after figuring out the timing on a CZ when Shawn L. and I replaced the hammer on his CZ40.

It's not a hard fix, but enough work that I would just send it back.

It's not an ammo problem because I can do it while dry firing, with or without a magazine.

I think Lycanthrope has the right idea and I'm just going to send it back. Hell, I just it less than two weeks ago and haven't even sent in the warranty card yet. I guess I'll mail the card on Friday and call them some time next week to give them time to get it listed.

Not what I was hoping for.

    Had some insomnia.......

I see you signed up at the CZ forum. Good deal.

Here is the problem I was talking about and how to fix it. Does your gun have an overtravel stop in the trigger? You may beed to just back that off as well.
