S&W Reintroducing the Model 610 in 10mm
I had the opportunity to buy a 610 when it was new, but at the time it was - buy a new gun or pay my rent. Rent won. I'm pretty happy with my Ruger GP100 in 10mm, but I may break down and pick this one up at some point.

The 4" would be dandy. Rimless cartridges in moonclips are really slick. Now if only they'd make the revolvers top-break and auto-ejecting.

Would it make more sense to just get a .44 magnum at that point? Still pretty cool though.

Only if you dont already load and shoot 10mm. 10mm is reasonable power with much less recoil. Esp in one of these heavy guns. Being said, I have have 4 10mms and would only buy this on a whim. The Ruger gp100 is probably about half the price, esp when they start showing up noon.

Re: S&W Reintroducing the Model 610 in 10mm
Street price on the 610 will probably be about $50-$100 more than the GP100 in 10mm. The used market is another story. If S&W does like they did the last time they reissued the 610, it will be a short run for a year, maybe two. Smiths tend to hold their value better than Rugers. You may not see a significant price drop on the used market for the 610.

Used 610's go for $1k+. Retail for the new 610 is $956, but Bud's is listing the new 610 for $778 (out of stock). The Ruger GP100 Match Champion is on Bud's for $756. If you look around, you can find the Ruger for a lot less. I got mine for just around $700. It will be the same with the S&W 610. Figure just below $750 from the right LGS.
