    Default Ranges in Lancaster Area

My sister recently moved to Narvon and is looking for ranges and or LGS to frequent.

I saw some posts about Morr and sent that to her.. How about Sportsmans clubs and other LGS in the area?

Narvon is a long drive to Morr Outdoors in Willow Street. Sportsman Shop in Blue Ball is much closer, was a bowling alley, not it's a gun shop/indoor range.

Depending on how close they are to Reading, URC is out there, and New Holland has a great outdoor range as well.

Penn Dutch Sportsmans, great clean facility with multiple ranges out to 400 yards, great place to shoot
    http://penndutchsportsmen.com/

Morgantown rod and gun, again clean range and newly renovated back stops and benches
    http://www.morgantownrodandgunclub.com/

And Beartown Sportsmans, could use some refreshing and the range is shooting into a slight uphill grade, very economical @ $25/yr
    http://www.beartownsportsman.com/index.html

I am a member at all three of them, all nice places to shoot and as I last knew all accepting new members

Curious, does Penn Dutch still have their no semi-auto rifle rule?

No , just no "rapid fire" IIRC three second pause between shots

If you are looking to join New Holland, make sure to visit the range at least three times in the prior 12 months, before you plan on applying for membership. Once the three range visits are complete, you can apply to get on the waitlist in October.

It used to be there were 600 applying for only 40 plus spots. The three visit rule, helps eliminate those just looking to get on a list somewhere. It also gives those who really want to become a member, a better shot at landing one of the few memberships awarded every year. Seems more are keeping them...its a great facility and always adding improvements to the ranges for its members.
