Re: Sears Model 53 Should I Keep Or Selll ?
Personally I would put a better stock on it, that thing looks a bit to fragile. Keep it, maybe change it to a more interesting caliber since the bolt face has already been opened up.

If it shoots good keep it and have fun......... You won't get as much as you think selling it.
You should think about getting a low profile scope mount. Assuming the scope is OK.

Re: Sears Model 53 Should I Keep Or Selll ?
But it has a fugly Monte Carlo stock from the 60's. They were always a love it or hate it kind of thing and they are definitely not tacticool today. But will it work? Yes. With the right height scope it should give a perfect cheek weld. As for fragile don't try to beat the deer to death with the butt and you will be fine.
You don't have any choices changing calibers unless you rebarrel. Then you can do almost anything you want as long as the bolt head matches.
That is why you need to shoot it first. If it shoot well be happy.Last edited by Delkal; March 1st, 2019 at 07:30 PM.

Re: Sears Model 53 Should I Keep Or Selll ?
Just asking, is it still considered a Sears Model 53 with all the changes made to it?
