These always seem well made. I might get a set for my colt eventually.

I have Sarge's Grips on my 1911 and on my wife's TRP. They're beautiful to look at, but as pretty as they are, they're too smooth for me. I'm probably going to switch out the ones on mine for a set of VZ Grips.

He said he was looking for wood or that would have been my top pick as well.

For cheap, the Magpul ones I have fit well and feel pretty good for $20.

Well , a non-natural finish calls for synthetic stocks. Pachmary has some far-out patterns in G10. I like to keep thing light on carry guns. The Magpul panels are pretty cool , light , good grip surface , and come in several 'tacti-kool' colors.

I have VZ thin (thin because I've got short fingers and I want to manipulate the gun as little as possible in use) grips on both of my 1911s. Smooth on the EDC because it's against my skin all day, and Frag on the match gun for a bit more grip. If you're not going IWB you can get even more aggressive.

ETA: Smooth still have a texture to them, they're not glossy.

Thousands of options. Easy to swap the out.
Variety is the spice of life - buy a few and try them out.

I have a few different wood grips for this gun, but couldn't afford the pimptastic ones I really wanted.
Had the VG Recons (G10 material) in Predator Green on it - they looked cool and it's hard to get a more aggressive texture.
TOO aggressive for my tastes, so I sold them.

I picked up the Magpul grips because I found them on clearance for $10 - figured what the heck.
I like them more than I thought I would. They feel slim and they have a decent texture without being rough.

On this polished nickel, the black looks better than most of the wood grips I tried out.

I called to check my ZIP CODE!....DY-NO-MITE!!!
