thought the welfare was fed property like the pseudo-fed post office.
i recall the local welfare office is posted, didn't notice signage on snydersville DMV but i carry and have gotten comments one time from them about it, was not asked to leave or removed, just comments about my carry. never an issue before or since.

The welfare office is fed property just like banks are. Believe that and people here will accuse you of smoking dope.

If the local welfare office is posted, a letter should be sent to the county commissioners asking them why and under what lawful authority. The individual counseling booths or rooms outside of the general public waiting area can be, because they're not open to the general public, but what is open to the general public can't be, unless it's in a building housing a court facility.

with funding coming from state and fed, hard to tell who owns such a building. not as obvious as a bank or social security.
i'm actually surprised that DHS or HUD doesn't control the properties with states dictating a portion of the program credentials.
post office is a private corp now isn't it? but the properties post 1 year in prison if you carry on them.[iirc]

Many of the state departments Re trying to get away from owning buildings; they are doing lease space, even the LCB.

which is the only way i can go to a post office w/o taking a gun on their property.
the local is a dinky little dunkin donuts sized slot in a strip mall. unfortunately all my oversized goes to a different one that is its own building and owns the parking lot
leasing is probably cheaper as it offloads building maintinence.

The U.S. Postal Service is a government corporation, not a private entity.

The USPS is often mistaken for a government-owned corporation (e.g., Amtrak) because it operates much like a business. It is, however, an "establishment of the executive branch of the Government of the United States", (39 U.S.C. § 201) as it is controlled by Presidential appointees and the Postmaster General
