Default Trick my XD or buy the XDM

First.... No I don't want to buy a Glock.

OK, I have a full size Bi-Tone XD that I use for IDPA and USPSA shoots. I was thinking about either sending it back in and having a trigger job, new sights, and maybe some other work done to it to get it ready to play the games with.

    Or....

Should I just buy the new XDM that is coming out. I believe it pretty much has all this done to it already.

Would there be an advantage to doing one over the other? I think I could get the work done cheaper. But buying another pistols is always a good thing too. Which way do you think I should lean?

BOTH! Of course that could result in not having any cash for an extended period and could also result in someone being very pissed at you for an even longer amount of time. Seriously though, I'm waiting for an XDM before I do anything more to any of my handguns, but that is just me.

Are you KIDDING me? This is a lay up. The only question is whether to get one of the XDm's out now...or wait for an XDm Compact. Two guns are better than one. What caliber do you have? Getting another one gives you the option to pick up a diff caliber...diff color/finish, etc. My XD 40 bi-tone can't wait to meet it's XDm .45 Compact 5" cousin...either that or an XDm 9mm SC....I suspect SA is pregnant with it now and just waiting for the big day of birth!!

Then again.. you might come out of the closet soon and buy that Glock you've been secretly lusting over....

I have the full size XD9 that I use for IDPA and USPSA.

I have the Subcompact with Crimson Trace Laser that is my go everywhere carry gun.

I am waiting on the XDM9 since I want to use it for the games. And to keep ammo pretty much standard. I was considering just tricking out the XD9 now though. Course, doing both isn't a bad idea either.

Its always easier to dress up your old lady with some enhancement to spice up things, since you already know just about where all the buttons are and which one makes which noise, then get new gf, and work your way up from scratch, and she may not even put out, if you ask me...

Ofcourse, there is alway the M&P9L...

Really good insight, and strangely erotic too.

Below is Springfields Production Package. If you check it out. It is pretty much all the goodies that come on the XDM. The XDM just has the adjustable back strap. I'm betting that buying a new XDM with fiber optic sights will run me really close to what they are asking to trick out my old XD. (But I do know how to make that baby moan, and she loves me back big time too)

    XD® “PRODUCTION” PACKAGE: $ 575.00
Competition action job; reduced overtravel & reset; Dawson adjustable fiber optic sights; extended mag release; Springfield Custom™ match grade barrel; inspect & test fire.

I still say to buy the XDM. You know as well as I do that your current XD is lonely and looking for a friend to keep it company when you aren't around.

No no. You're doing it wrong......

The above trigger, some Dawson sights and go shooting. You don't need a new barrel.
