Default World War Two Shoot at LRGC

Get ready because our annual World War Two shoot is less than one month away! This is a fun period based shoot that features the firearms used during World War II. The shoot will be on Saturday February 23rd at LRGC 251 Stoneyford Road Holland PA. You will need to be at the long range ready to go by no later than 0830hrs.

After the shoot please join us for a traditional GI lunch at the Mess Hall otherwise known as the We The People Building.

Only period firearms are to be used at this event. Bolt guns are fine and rifles and carbines that fire in semi-auto. Sorry no full auto is permitted. Dressing in period attire is encouraged.

The fee for this match is $15.00 for members and $20.00 for non-members. As we are going to be ordering food, we will need you to commit to paying the fee unless you cancel ten (10) days before the event. We will workout payment details later.

This is always a fun event and a great place to see some history battle rifles. So here is the sign-up link:

Hello this match sounds interesting, I would be coming from around two hours away (one way) so am wondering what the course of fire is and how many stages?

For this match we typically shoot between 80-100 rounds give or take. We will use our steel targets which are between 100 and 200 yards. We will shoot from the standing knelling and prone position.

Any firearm dating or nation requirements, of merely period-correct? Should I leave the long rifles at home?

Bring your 200-yard handguns. They'll be interested to see them.

    Just needling the oversight

Good question might be AK-47, which is technically post-WWII, but was probably developed during that war, and employed in post-war occupations.

There are two kinds of guns. Those I have acquired, and those I hope to.

We have no Nation requirements. We have had US, German, Japanese, Russian, Italian, Swedish, Finnish, French, and English firearms used. An AK would not be acceptable for this match. While it was designed during the war, it saw no combat use. This match is not designed for sidearms. A rifle or carbine would be most appropriate. :-)

    Good Evening Friends,

What a day! I love this match for so very many reasons. You all did a fantastic job being safe today. Thank you!!!!! Special thanks to all our RSO's and for those who helped with the steel and for those who brought spotting scopes. Special thanks to Chef Donna for her amazing job in the kitchen.

And now without further adieu, Congratulations to Chris P. for his outstanding performance today. He has earned a spot in our Champions Match in April. Chris was followed by Eric G. and Carl A.

Have a great rest of your February and we'll see you in March for our Last Chance Match.
