New Okay Industries Surefeed E2 USGI Mag
"OK" (pun intended), apparently it's been out since early 2018, but I had not seen it anywhere until just now.
Has anyone purchased or used them?
I realize that anyone not old enough to have been shooting "pre-Magpul" probably doesn't recognize the "Okay" brand name, but it's one of a few from the "old days" that was recognized as being among the best.
As someone who is "Meh" about Pmags, I'm really interested in these. I prefer USGI over most polymer mags with the exception of Lancer mags.
I guess the "high" price is why I have not seen these anywhere. People seem to think that anything over $5 is too much for a quality USGI mag and the overall industry saturation of affordable, plastic mags probably makes these a little harder to sell.
Info from a vendor's product listing spells out the specific changes over a standard USGI mag:
OK Industries is the tried and true Mil-Spec manufacturer of M16/M4 pattern magazines. With 45 years of experience, they've integrated new features to further enhance the legendary metal magazine. Tested and evaluated by US SOCOM to be the most reliable of the USGI magazine variants; Okay Industries magazines are dry film Teflon coated, anti-tilt follower, and dimensionally verified with external dimension dies (hence the marks on the brand new magazines.)
The Okay Industries Surefeed E2 magazines are enhanced with a patented feed lip design, textured side panels, a new anti-tilt follower, and caliber markings. The E2's patented feed lips reduce the amount of force necessary to strip the cartridge from the magazine, dramatically increasing the reliability when the rifle is dirty or fouled with carbon. As an industry first for metal magazines, the E2 has been enhanced with textured side panels to improve handling in adverse conditions.
Surefeed E2 magazines are 100% Made in the USA with components that meet or exceed Mil-Spec requirements. This magazine body is features a Tactical Black PTFE finish.
Weighs 4.0 oz unloaded. An ounce less than a Magpul M3 PMAG
Just poking around the web for a few seconds, it seems these sell for $12.49
Available in black, grey, and tan.
Interested in hearing feedback.

I picked up 3 from my LGS at 11.00 each. They look rock solid but haven't had a chance to try them out.

Re: New Okay Industries Surefeed E2 USGI Mag
Okay Industries developed the original 30 rd aluminum M16 magazine in conjunction with the US Army. They have been making the "GI" 30 rd mag continuously ever since, with other contractors filling in as govt demand dictates. Okay made some for a civilian vendor, NHTMG, about 10 yrs ago, but the person behind that organization died and it collapsed. Okay saw a marketing opportunity in the civilian market in that NHTMG effort and developed the Surefeed with its improvements. With its no tilt follower, grip texture dimples and color options the Okay Surefeed should only improve on a historically great performing AR magazine. All of my AR mags are original Okays into which I installed Magpul followers, if they did not already have them. Never had a failure.

Five bucks is pushing it. D&H mags get down around $7-8 @ PSA, from time to time. They may have even been down to $6 a year or two ago, I can't recall for certain. Right now they're $10.

Re: New Okay Industries Surefeed E2 USGI Mag
I got 10 COLT mags for $5 each (used) last year.
I think the internet melted down for about ten minutes until they sold out.
LOL!
I honestly wouldn't have an issue paying $11-$12 for these.
Good USGI mags are typically $7-$12 anyway and I can't expect a new product with improvements to sell for the same price.
Provided the improvements actually work.
Better than the $17-$25 for my 7.62x39 mags.
