Selling Hand gun to family member
Hi everyone I have a quick question. I always like to be on the legal side of things. I am a Maryland resident and recently bought a XD45 that i do not like. MY dad shot it a couple weeks ago and loved it and said if I ever thought of selling it he would take it.
Well i want to sell it but he is in Pennsylvania. Can I just give it to him as a gift or sell? Or would we have to do paper work?
Is the policy for long guns the same/different?

If I'm not mistaken, even rifle transfers, family or no, require an ffl when crossing state lines.

Re: Selling Hand gun to family member
As said prior, all interstate transfers must go through a FFL.
Instate transfers between spouses, parent/child, and grandparent/grandchild do not require any paperwork.RIP: SFN, 1861, twoeggsup, Lambo, jamesjo, JayBell, 32 Magnum, Pro2A, mrwildroot, dregan, Frenchy, Fragger, ungawa, Mtn Jack, Grapeshot, R.W.J., PennsyPlinker, Statkowski, Deanimator, roland, aubie515
