    Red face Polish power!

Picked up a 1974 Polish P-64 in excellent plus condition. Been wanting one for awhile , and finally got one without the obtrusive dot printing of the importers info.

Hmmm , pics ain't posting again!

Sometimes called the Polish PPK (PPKski?), this thing is beautifully made and finished. Bluing is deep and tool or polishing marks non-existent. Equal to any 30s-50s commercial Colt or Walther auto. Being of Polish descent myself , it's nice to think this might have been made by a distant relative. Trigger is absolutely horrible , but Wolff springs are on the way. Found some nice walnut grips too. It'll keep my WWII VIS P-35 Radom and Cold War TT-33 company.

I have a few in excellent condition. While it’s an excellent looking pistol it’s absolutely horrible to shoot.

I’ve changed the springs out on a few and you can get the double action better the only problem is it makes the single action almost dangerous. I went with the large pack of springs with different weights and played with them until I found an acceptable combination that was safe.

Going from recommendations and results posted on the P64 site , I ordered an 18# hammer spring and 20# recoil spring.

I'd rather shoot my .500 S&W than my little Polish makarov.

Unfortunately I don’t remember what I used off hand. Let me know how it works out, if your not happy I can send you some of the other options I have so you can play around with it.

I prefer the P-83, Vanad, but hey, whatever floats your boat.

I ended up selling my two. One pre the C&R designation. 25 lb DA pull until I modified them but then the SA was less than my S&W 41. I may have a coupel fo magazines (genuine P64s if anyone is interested. On the other hand, my EG makarov and the CZ 82 will keep me happily igniting 9 mm Mak rounds. Dave_n

Picked onw up a few years ago. I am a steel and wood guy so these polymer guns don't appeal to me. Mine is pretty decent with a nice blue finish. Not perect but pretty good. I wouldn't call shooting it horrible but it does have a zing. Noticed prices are creeping up but still a bargain at anything under $300. Next stop: CZ-82. Another "steel"
