Re: CMP 1911’s
I did the switcheroo thing with a friend of mine. He got a Colt frame with a Rand slide. I got a Rand frame with a Colt slide. We swapped slides and have matching manufacturer pistols. Both were refinished in the early 80s and the parkerizing matches exactly. Both are service grade.
Good luck all of you.

Re: CMP 1911’s
Looks good! I think that is a replacement slide. Possibly numax? Is that number 53397? Looks like it. I seen some service grades on CMP with slides marked like that.

Re: CMP 1911’s
The slide was replaced when it was overhauled. Still USGI technically. Service grades are a coin flip at to getting a replacement slide or not it seems. They were just not marked in the way they were originally. Remington Rand. Model of 1911 US ARMY, Rampant Colt etc...
You were supposed to get an Ithaca dammit!

Re: CMP 1911’s
Nice looking pistol! Regardless of the slide and frame manuf. virtually all of these pistols were rebuilt at some time or another...probably even more than once, and will not be original. The cool factor is that these are genuine US military handguns configured as they were issued. I have an ithaca frame and slide, but I've been told that my slide is still a replacement that just happened to be made by the same company as the frame.

Re: CMP 1911’s
Nope, not mad - it's a beautiful pistol for sure! I would have preferred one with a manufacturer marked slide - but that's just me. Maybe someone out there has one with both frame and slide manufacture marked and like mine better and we swap Otherwise, I'll keep my eyes out for a RR preferably slide that looks like a match.
Got her home and checked her out. Tag says Remington Rand frame, GI replacement slide. Then it has a Colt barrel and a mecgar mag.

Re: CMP 1911’s
The second round of 1911 lottery has started!
Round 2 of CMP 1911 Orders will officially reopen from January 4, 2021 through March 4, 2021. Every applicant will be treated as a new customer to CMP 1911! Only mail orders will be accepted and customers will be contacted in the sequence provided by the Random Number Generator. Only ONE CMP 1911 order form packet per customer, per envelope, may be submitted! If you have already purchased a 1911 weather from the RGN system or Auction Site, you are NOT eligible to purchase another 1911.
https://thecmp.org/sales-and-service/1911-information/
Order form packet: https://thecmp.org/wp-content/upload...df?vers=121220
Please read all the instructions.
* Make sure you are using the correct CMP 1911 UNIVERSAL ORDER FORMS, in the top right corner under the pistol, it will say ROUND 2.
* Just insert the asked for information in the space provided. DON’T READ MORE INTO THE QUESTION THAN IT ASKS FOR.
* Where it asks for the FFL Name on the order form, that’s simply all we want, the name of the FFL to where you plan to have the pistol shipped once your order is processed. Note: it doesn’t say license #, address, etc. Just put the name of the FFL you PLAN on using to receive the pistol…that’s it! – “FFL information” means the actual FFL data, address and license verification that is provided once your RGN comes up and your order is processed. DON’T OVERTHINK IT.
* CMP (RIFLES) records will not transfer to CMP 1911, they are 2 separate entities. Your CMP customer number is not valid for CMP 1911.
* The 2A Form MUST be notarized in order to be accepted and to purchase a CMP 1911.
* We cannot accept a “Virtual Notary “.
* The GCA is an acceptable CMP affiliated organization and can be used.
* At this time, we still cannot ship to the state of Massachusetts.
* With current problems the U.S. Postal Service is having, we suggest you send your order packet by Fed Ex or UPS.
* Please do not send your order packet “Signature Required”, half the time all the Post Person does is drop a notice in our mail box requiring that we go to the Post office to pick it up, we have neither the staff nor time to do so. Again, I would use Fed Ex or UPS as they provide a tracking number.
* It does not matter what color ink you use to fill out the order packet, only that we can read your writing.
