Re: CMP 1911’s
I have several customers who are in the draw for one and they will be sent to me to do the transfer. As they come in (whenever) I will report on their condition (but no I will not take pictures of my customers firearms). I have no dog in the hunt so I think I can give an unbiased report on their condition. IIRC, they will still be doing it by lottery after this initial batch gets distributed.

Re: CMP 1911’s
My N.J. friend has his in hand.
He reports it's an Ithica in excellent refinished condition, born in 1943.
There are no markings on the slide, standard U.S. Property marking on the frame and arsenal stamps indicating rebuild at Anniston in 1980.
I'm sending him an excellent brown leather tanker holster marked Enger-Kress 1943 to keep it company.Crusader's local #556 South Central Asia chapter

Re: CMP 1911’s
An example was just posted on the CMP forum that's a mid-WWII Colt slide on a late WWII RR frame, rebuilt at Benicia and then again by the Marines, with markings to prove both. To the folks who think that's equivalent to a new production Rock Island, I can't help them. But to those who understand and value the history, condition and mechanical function are simply bonuses.

Re: CMP 1911’s
I'm guessing we're out of luck - I would think they have gotten through them all by now? Only hope is they said if you did not get one, your application and number were kept in order and would be applied to next round of imports - we will see

Re: CMP 1911’s
I think they're still assigning numbers, CMP recently said it could be 90days. I follow along a bit on the CMP forums. They've only assigned roughly 2000 numbers so far from what I've seen. Only 700 pistols have been shipped so far.

I saw one of the pistols last week that got shipped out. Looks AS NEW but it definitely was Arsenal Refinished.
