Default Amusing LEO OC encounter today.

I was at Sheetz this afternoon, OCing my Springfield 1911 as usual. I was standing at the counter waiting for my MTO sandwich, and noticed an officer come up next to me.

Officer: "Excuse me." (I was thinking. .here we go!)

    Me: "Afternoon officer"

    Officer: "What ya carrying?"

    Me: "Springfield 1911."

Officer: "Cool. Have a good one."

He then walked away. It was kind of surreal lol. Anyway, good encounter!

Glad to hear it. I still can't get myself to do it(OCing). Too many not so friendly encounters for me. I feel bad for the ones who have to pay for lawyers and go to hearings just to get LTCF's back from ignorrant sheriffs. But glad to see things are good round your way.

Yep everything has gone well for me thus far. I don't foresee any seriously negative encounters, as they are fairly uncommon. Most OCers do so on a regular basis with no hassles. I am, however, fortunate enough to be in a position to be able to afford my defense if something such as an improper arrest were to happen. I do understand that some people are hesitant to OC due to the possibility of a legal battle, though.

Just to add, this was the Sheetz on Penn Ave in Sinking Spring next to Performance Toyota. The officer was Lower Heidelberg Township.

I have OC'd in this sheetz a few times myself with no negative encounters. Nobody seemed to mind or noticed. Glad the officer didn't have any problem with it.

Whether you do or not is a person choice on your part. I, for one, respect your decision to carry, or not carry, in whatever fashion seems most comfortable (physically and psychologically) to you. You have no reason whatsoever to apologize, or even appear to do so.

That cop may have been interviewing you. He wanted to see how you respond & was propably observing you for a little while before he approached. He sort of checked you out, without harassing you.
In that little time he determined you were likely just a normal guy OCing.

He is propably a skilled cop & there should be more like him.
