    Default OC in the winter...

So it got kinda chilly to day, which got me thinking. Most of my winter attire will not allow OC in my traditional manor which is usually iwb. Ive been wanting to get a serpa, but i dont really care for carrying on my side. My arm always hits my firearm, plus i feel it attracts more attention. But i do love the retention of the serpa.

So other than that, i really feel my options are quite limited. Just wondering if anyone else is considering this issue.

So when winter hits.. will you still OC?

    How will you OC?

You need to get a patrol jacket of some sort with side flap closures...I have a few that are EMS/PD Dual purpose that I haven't had department letters put on yet. That said, OWB is sort of required or the flap will just fall closed.

Since I'm eligible for (and do possess) a LTCF, I don't take extraordinary measures to keep my firearm visible when wearing clothing appropriate for weather conditions. When I get inside a store, restaurant, etc., the coat usually comes off....and then I am once again OC.

I hope it's not really cold on election day.

I follow along the same lines as Greg and others. I don't really go to extremes to cover my weapon any more than I do to cover my cell phone. If I'm wearing a jacket, its covered, once I get inside, and the jacket comes off, its OC again. Unless I'm CC in the few places that I have struck a deal with wife about ( church, the kids pre-school, pretty much anytime my wife is around and we're in public).

That is pretty funny this early in the morning... But then again it's probably funny at night too! LOL
John Stuart Mill noted: ‘A man who has nothing which he is willing to fight for, nothing which he cares about more than he does about his personal safety, is a miserable creature who has no chance of being free, unless made and kept so by the exertions of better men than himself.’

I OC and CC with the Serpa, so there isn't a whole lot that will change for me. I am one of those people who takes off their coat as soon as they get into a building though, so it is not like I am walking around with a coat on all the time.

For one of my carry guns though, I have a DeSantis OWB thumb break scabbard. It works well, and holds the gun a lot higher and tighter than my Serpa does. You might be interested in checking it out.
