Default Anybody go to the range on Mondays??

I moved to Carbon Co. 4 years ago. Great neighbors and a few new friends, but none are gun people. I'm also an OTR truck driver, so I'm not home all that often.

I try to get to get to the range on the mondays that I'm off work. Usually the state range on 93. Maybe I'll see you there.

Yeah...I've noticed a few of those types from time to time. If I'm going there, I try to get there first thing in the morning while it's cool and before any unsavory types get out of bed

Yes,I was there this past Monday,Pistol side with Glocks and Taurus firearms,Rifle side with my AR 15 ! Incident with a shooter who after fired rapid fire 30 round mag proceeded to grab his rifle by the barrel ! He let out a girlie scream and left his skin on the barrel.Tried to help him but he was embarrassed by what he did.He suffered 2nd degree burns on the palm of his hand and doubt he will be shooting for awhile. We packed up his gear made safe his firearms and told him to get medical attention ! MDT

I'm almost sorry I wasn't there to witness that MDT. Instant karma is usually something special to behold.

I made it to the sgl range there yesterday. Met a decent chap there sighting in a .308, and a couple of younger guys with an AR, AK, and a few pistols. I even let them try out my new toy. The hazleton dregs showed up about 10am or so. They seemed more interested in taking photos of each other than putting rounds on paper, but they didn't seem unsafe, even if they didnt know how many rounds are to be loaded in a pistol magazine at a time. Overall, it was a pretty good day.

Given the headline of this thread, I decided to change it up and yes I did go to the range on Monday.
I went to Pitcairin / Monroeville Gun Club
I had a bunch of leftover rifle reloads I decided to shoot.
I took a PA10 and am not exceptionally impressed with the accuracy at 100. Some 165 gr reloads did considerably better that the 2 Milsurp 7.62x51s I also tried.

I ran a Savage .300 WM and will have to try some different bullet, powder combos.
My best groupings were with 165 gr Wolf Gold.

The Rem 760 pump gave me the best group with Speer 150 gr spitzers over 57.5 gr of imr 4350. The 6 I had left were loaded in 1994.

The 30-30 had the first 2 rounds touching and one out about 2 inches with 2 different loadings. Looks like operator error.
Iron sights on my Spanish FR8 was a horrible experience.
My eyes are too bad for 100 yard shooting.

I found that I didnt need glasses to do reasonably well with the Leopold glass.

I only shoot those rifles at 100. Maybe for shits and giggles I should run them further.
