I always liked the idea of the DeLisle, and thought they looked interesting. I collected SMLE's for a while, and always thought it would be neat to have in the fold. As for a project, I don't have access to the resources and would have to pay out the nose to get the work done, so I never went any further than just the idea.

I did, although, have an idea about shortening a NoIV MkI* to 16" and threading the end 5/8-24 for my Gemtech. Loading 10gr of Trail Boss behind a very heavy cast lead bullet of .314 diameter in the 200-220gr should make it subsonic. What would be the difference between the .45 and the sub .303? It would be neat to find out, but alas I don't know exactly how to cut down the handguards of my sacrificial NoIV MKI* I have set aside for this project.

A subsonic 303 would be the same as a subsonic 308win. Your only hang up would be the twist rate of the 303 not stabilizing the heavy bullet and possibly getting baffle strikes.

I do need to put this side by side with my 308 subs and my TBAC Ultra 7

Thanks for posting that. I had watched it about a year ago or so and forgotten about it.

Hello Nate7667. I have a similar kit I bought from Richard in Nevada from his SIA website before he closed his shop and manufacturing facility. I bought from him the mag well and .45 cal barrel kit. I tried to recreateThe DeLisle carbine build but have been lacking precisie schematics for sizing parts to be fabricated. I stumbled upon your post and would like to ask you some questions regarding this build project. I would like to ask aboyt the dimenstions and sizing of the rear end cap and forend cap. If its possible could you give me the mesurements ad exact sizes as I am trying to fabricate part like you have done.Thank you for any information you can provide as I am stymied by a lack of blueprints and especially sizes etc.
