Now what???

Now that $600 and some odd billion dollars is going into the shitter, is the election saved? I heard Bush could suspend the election and institute martial law due to economic instability.

Throughout history we've always continued to hold elections. Some of this info was heard on a radio show, so maybe it was just a few conspiracy theorists ranting. I'll search for some articles, but thought I'd toss this out there to get the fire going.

I can't say that I expect that the elections will be suspended, however I wouldn't be totally surprised if they were.

Pelosi: The Senate won't stand for this!

Obama: I'll stop you! I am the Chosen One. I can rally the People against you... even if it is more of the same bullshit.

Bush: Strike me down with all of your hatred, and your journey towards the dark side will be complete

Only Congress can suspend habeas corpus and effectively declare martial law. Now try to get that past 535 members of Congress without a fight. I cant find anywhere in the Constitution were it grants any branch the power to suspend the Constitution entirely since the branches derive their authority directly from the Constitution itself.

To do so would effectively be an act of war upon the United States(the people), and an attempt to overthrow the established government. ..in other words, an unlawful coup d’état.
