    Default Here come "The Judge"!

Went to the "enabler" yesterday to pay off and pick up Hubby's birthday present (75th Anniversary Walther PPK), and while there was notified that they had JUST recieved some Taurus 4410's that I was looking for (They had gotten six in that day, and were down to 2 by the time I got off work) When I put it on my wish list, was unaware that Taurus has named it "The Judge" (the name is etched right into the barrel).

The thing that I liked about it is that it takes both 410 gauge ammo (either shot or slugs) AND .45 longs. You can load them up any way you want, but the one I like is the shotshell first, (to serve as a "warning" and do less damage to the contents of the house) followed up by the .45 round. That way, if some slimeball doesn't get the message the first time, by gawd the second shot will drive it home.

I understand it makes a pretty good snake gun, too. Anyhoo, I got the version with the 3" barrel, blued. Figured it would make it easier to stick into the backpack when we go camping than the 6 inch barrel would be

I was hankering for the same model you got. How is it? Is it accurate enough with the .45? I'm not competing or shooting distance but I'd like it to be reasonably accurate and wasn't sure how it'd do with the hybrid to the .410.

Also, can you give me a ballpark on that unit? Taurus lists the MSRP at $503 and I thikn that's pretty steep. I'm just wondering if there's much of a break on that.

Any other comments or thoughts on the pistol would be very appreciated. I've been drooling over this for a few weeks now.

I glanced at one that was in the case yesterday morning. Looked like it would make a good companion while out on a stroll. Let us know what you think of it after you run some shells through it.

Price will definitely depend on the place you get it from. I picked up mine (3" barrel) for $430. The stainless steel 6" barrel version was selling for $480. I know that the MSRP was quite a bit higher, but the shop that I go to doesn't do a whole lot of markup on their guns. Have to wait for things to dry out at the stip mine before I can go run some rounds through it, but have been getting the ammo together for it. I'll let y'all know the results after I have a chance to take it out for a "play date".

Here's a kick-ass video segment on Personal Defense TV about The Judge.

    Holy crap.

I realize I just watched what is essentially an advertisement, but that's a powerful argument there at the end!

I figure its only a matter of hours before TheHighChild updates his sig line AGAIN!

HAHA, If there's too long of a delay between "want" and "have" I get pretty antsy in my pantsy. It's def on the list but I can't decide whether I should get a super compact peice for CCW or this first.

Either way, gotta wait til the next paycheck....maybe. I've got no self-control. haha

I look forward to the range report. I've seen really great reviews about this gun.

I'm very interested in this revolver, as I'm not interested in long guns. I guess the barrel legnth regulations for sbs don't apply to .410?

    Reason... It's not a shotgun, it's a revolver.
    I LIKE it.
