Need helping searching threads, etc.
Just wondering if anyone can tell me how I can search threads to see what got someone banned? Anytime I'm reading through threads and see someone banned it just piques my curiousity to see what they did to get the ban hammer. I know I can search for posts by a member's name, but sometimes that brings up a TON of posts!

Re: Need helping searching threads, etc.
if you click their name above any post (like click on littleredtoyota above this one), there is an option for "find all posts by user" (or something like that).
click on that and you'll get all their posts with the latest ones at the top. chances are whatever got them banned is in one of their last posts...assuming the post did not get deleted.

Re: Need helping searching threads, etc.
If it's a manual ban (i.e. not a ban issued through infractions) there will be no record of it, although as LRT says a banned individual's most recent posts will likely be the cause, and more often than not one of the mods will make a post not long after in the thread.
ANY infraction on a post, whether it triggers an automatic ban or not, will be visible as a Yellow or Red Card in the bottom right of box for that post.
UPDATE: Actually, I believe this is only true for mods/admins. Sorry for the mistake.
Also, just to clarify: not all bans are permanent, in fact most are NOT. Just because someone is banned doesn't mean they'll never be back. For temporary bans (1 day, 1 week, 1 month, etc.) the member's status will return to its pre-ban state after the ban period has expired, and the member can continue to use the site as normal.
Lastly, I'm going to move this to the Support & Suggestions forum.Last edited by ChamberedRound; September 26th, 2008 at 11:41 AM.
