    Default Deactivating crossbolt safety

How hard is it to deactivate the crossbolt safety and pin it in the fire possition? For marlin lever guns. -BB

I've not disabled one by any means, but the nicest solution I've seen is a replacement that looks like an action bolt but is really just a bolt that fits flush on both sides and has a slot on one end.

Try a search at one of the Marlin forums and you may find a link.

There are a couple of ways. One is to get a snug fitting o-ring and put it over the safety when it is in the fire position. The other is to remove the stock. There is a set screw in the left side of the frame that holds the safety in. You can clean the goop out of it and then tighten it down against the safety thereby locking it in place.

Or you can do what the previous poster suggested.
