I saw some on Amazon that hold 6 mags - seems excessive. 3 or 4 would be preferable.

Maybe there are other types I'm unaware of. Feel free to make suggestions.
I'm more of a rifle guy, so I don't pay attention to a lot of handgun accessories.
I just want to have a few extra mags on hand - near my house gun - that I can grab in an emergency that can be carried on a moment's notice - no time to feed through a belt, or otherwise attach to something - just grab and go.

    Bump!

These Gerber knife sheaths are dirt cheap.
I'll include two vendor links. Shipping, or other purchases will play into which would be the best place to order from.

They have MALICE clips on the back for attaching to packs/bags that have MOLLE webbing.
They are intended to carry a folding saw or large folder knife. MAGAZINES fit too!
20 rd S&W pistol mags fit.
33 Rd factory Glock mags fit - barely.
32 rd Metalform 9mm AR15 Colt pattern mags fit. (slightly more Velcro contact than factory Glock 33 rd mags)
20 rd stick mags will need something stuffed in the bottom so they stick up enough to grasp the mag.

What I used them for was to make "grab and go" mag pouches - never a bad idea to have a way to have extra mags handy in an unexpected emergency event.
    (see my pics below)

Tan or ACU camo available. (both places - only 1 link posted for each - look them up if you want)

    Discount Cutlery - $2.18

    Knife Center - $2.98

I just put them back to back, tying them together with Paracord and making two loops so I could attach a shoulder strap from a laptop bag that I wasn't using.

I drilled some holes in the plastic MALICE straps to better secure them by running the cord through so it would stay put.

Saw this and it looks like it may work with Colt pattern 9mm AR15 mags. (I have to do some research to confirm)
Reviews say that 33 rd Glock mags fit. (although they had to put something in the bottom of each cell so the mag would still protrude out the top)

    Current events bump.
Get prepared. Don't resort to shoving a box of ammo in your pocket in an emergency!

Another option for having extra rounds on hand is a butt stock mag pouch.
Specter Gear makes them for fixed stocks, adjustable stocks, and also twin pistol mag pouches for pistol cal carbines.

Here's an Ebay seller that has Coyote brown fixed stock pouches for $15 shipped.

I like that the opposite side has a built in side mount sling loop.

These USGI bandoliers can be had on the cheap.

I have a bunch of these.
I haven't gotten around to it yet, but I want to add a waist strap with a buckle to make an over the shoulder mag carrier that doesn't flop around as you move.

I found this article online where a guy did a tutorial on how to do it pretty easily.

I think I could also make one into a micro chest rig without too much effort.
