Default Does LTCF only apply to handguns?

I was reading an article recently by someone who does firearms training for civilians. I get his email and this week he did a review of a bag that he could use to conceal, except the thing he was concealing was an AK with a folding stock. He carried the bag in public for sometime to see if he got any odd reactions, and he did not. The bag actually did not seem to look any different than a bag someone might carry books in.

I know in PA it is legal to own handguns and rifles, as well as AR's and AK's that are not automatic weapons. My question is this.....does my LTCF allow me to conceal carry a rifle such as an AK or AR?

I have never thought of it before until I read the article and became curious.

technically speaking, a LTCF does not pertain to concealing a long gun, as they are not defined as firearms as it pertains to carry laws in Pennsylvania.

I'm not sure of the legality of it in general, however.

Well, let's just look at the statutes, shall we? Specifically the Pennsylvania Uniform Firearms Act. Pa. Code Title 18, Chapter 61.

So, as defined in the statutes, a LTCF only applies to:
Pistols, Short Barrel Shotguns and Short Barrel Rifles.

Is there a statute that says that you cannot conceal carry a rifle or shotgun on your person?

I'm pretty sure there was a thread that covered this. I've been looking and looking and for the life of me, I can't find it. IIRC, I'm pretty sure it is OK to open carry a loaded rifle and OK to conceal carry a loaded rifle as long as it is not in a car. But please, somebody correct me if I'm wrong.

The statues that lildobe posted are exactly correct. You can concealed carry anything that PA deems is a firearm. And according to their definition, that includes pistols, revolvers, short barreled rifles, and short barreled shotguns.

You just might have a hard time convincing LEOs of that fact. But the law is just as he stated.

But a AR or AK with a folding stock will come in well below the 26" OAL when folded.
It is not considered an SBR or AOW as overall length is measured with stock extended.
    Am I correct?
