Start with a boy. Take away his father. Sit him in front of a screen all day. Feed him porn. Feed him an endless stream of content. Give him no moral formation. No guidance. No companionship. Give him drugs. Isolate him.

That's how you make a school shooter. Rinse and repeat.

I get all that, but my ex-FIL (RIP) was severely abused as a child physically, mentally and psychologically back in Chicago in the 40's. He was finally sent to a foster home where he suffered further unspeakable abuses till he finally joined the Marine Corps at 17. The Marine Corps saved his life. He went on to a successful military career, family life and post-military career.

Well that's a great story about someone overcoming terrible odds. But, it appears to me that the Marine Corp filled in some of the blanks in Walsh's narrative (moral formation, guidance, and companionship, etc.). And your FIL was fortunate that in his formative years there was no social media or such easy access to pornography via the internet.

    God bless him.

My grandmother once chased me through the house with a wooden spoon when I was three, after I told her I was a Puerto Rican. She caught me too, bad hip and all.

I still think my dad put me up to it but he never fessed up.
