Right caliber for killing spiders

So while putting away some ammo i picked up at the gun show last weekend, I notice i have quite a few partial boxes of ammo between the closet and whats sitting on my desk. Mostly from loading an extra empty mag when i get home after the range.

So i go back to the bedroom and im sitting on the bed sorting ak, 9mm, and 40 rounds, when across the bed comes the Biggest yellow spider the size of a dime you'll ever see! Its front legs were up and forward like it was really looking for trouble. I swat him onto the floor, and thats when it gets interesting.

I jump up doing this little mosh pit dance and finally sit on the edge of the bed and drag my feet on the floor to ensure his demise. Suddenly like out of thin air, he reappears in the very place my dance took place... unscathed!

Well ive had enough of this. I grab the closest box and smashed it into the evil monster, but the carpet offered him considerable protection. In the end hit took 5 whacks of 9mm rounds before he finally quit moving. Brave little bugger, fought till the very end.

I guess in hind site though i would definitely go with a larger caliber. The 40 rounds might have done it, but next time.. im going for the Ak just to be sure!

He was probably the same sob that bit me in my sleep a few days ago.

I only have 2 simple comments to add...

1- zombie spiders are nothing to mess with. A good headshot is the only way to take him out.

and
2- nuke him from space, it's the only way to be sure.

Aerosol hairspray and a lighter, used in a general sweeping motion in any area the zombie spider may have been, is, or will be in the near future. Just to be thorough.

Spiders are cool...why would you want to kill them? I have 3 of my very own in my room...they're so cute.
