Weather or not this petition has any true political value-- it is sad to see that as of today there is barely only a tad over 50% of the 100,000 signatures needed.

Exactly. Military Arms Channel's video expressing a call to activate had over 300,000 views last time I looked at it. If those viewers (some admittedly double-viewers) had each signed the petition, there would be well over the 100,000 signatures.
