Oh stop. I*m just pulling Gene*s chain. He*s been prolific today after a prolonged absence.
I*m guessing he finally made the work release program.

    I'm asking that too.

In all the discussions here I've seen over all the years, I've never seen a definitive answer:

When an officer (let's say PSP for sake of argument) pulls up your plates... does it say if the owner is LTCF holder? Ditto if he collects/runs your DL: does it indicate if you hold LTCF?

Officer: are you carrying a gun?

    Citizen: go fuck yourself

I*ve not seen a definitive answer either. Probably a safe bet if it doesn*t already it will soon.
Doesn*t really make a difference. Just because you have a ltcf, doesn*t mean you are.
And has been pointed out many times, you don*t have to admit to carrying a firearm. You can be sure the officer has no qualms about lying to you.

Not really the best response. Even from a POOFA standpoint.

    Been there. Done that.

Other side of the car window of course.

ROFL. Yeah, that's exactly my -preferred- response. "Eat shit and die" a close 2nd.

Whether it's the best response... who knows?

    Completely agree.

But it would sure be nice to know what exactly the "officer" knows/sees...

My sources tell me that if it doesn't come up on their screen, dispatch advises them as such.

My understanding is that there are any number of databases of different data available to LE, either directly, or via dispatch. While the LTCF info is not directly contained in the DMV database records, it's merely a matter of a few keystrokes to obtain this information from a separate database, and probably most LE are in the habit of checking LTCF status for every name tied to a license tag, even before they know if that's actually the person behind the wheel.
