Speaking of defaced tags, I had to replace a tag beginning with D when registering a new car. It was free from the dealer, but apparently D, E, F tags are loosing there paint and Harrisburg is slowly replacing all of them. After that I started looking and they were correct. I saw a couple of that vintage tag that were almost completely silver.

Mrs. Walleye had to replace hers. Since she had a note from a po leeceman, she got it for free, otherwise they charge to replace them.

One of our vehicles has the same fading issue...told wife to call PennDOT on it before it gets bad.

Anyone who thinks LE don't troll for impaired drivers at night by pulling you over to advise of your blown head/taillight is naive.

The mag light is looking at your bloodshot eyes, while the Officer listens to your slurred speech and smells the stench of liquor. Well well... reasonable suspicion.

If one is that intoxicated, you just have to wait for straddling the line, constantly crossing the line, extremely low speed, wide turns, etc. and your chances went up 30 fold. Maybe the suburbs and rural areas, but I don*t have a lot of time for this.

The vast majority of impaired drivers drive just fine, you should know that. The reasonable suspicion occurs when they get pulled over for a courtesy advisement of a blown tail/headlight.

Back in the 50s I was driving River Road (Rt. 32) in the vicinity of Yardley Pa. I was stopped by an officer Titus (who I believe eventually became chief of police there). The paint on my registration plate was deteriorating and he stated it was the reason he stopped me. He strongly advised me to get some paint of the appropriate color and restore it. Yes Sir. Thank you, Sir I'm still LOL on that one.

Drunk driving is treated like a joke in this country anyway. You can kill someone and not even go to jail for any significant period of time. Fucking pathetic.

Here in Lancaster, you can run down a guy just going to work on his scooter, flee the scene, claim that you thought you get a telephone pole and only get charged with an M1 and a summary offense, neither of which are hit and run. Our "justice" system is fucking pathetic.
