Remlin 1895CB thoughts...
I was going to post this in the ammunition section, well because why not...
...but I didn't because it belongs here.
Sooo...
Does anyone have one of the octagon barreled 1895's in 45-70 made by Remlin?
With the $100 rebate I can get one for about $550 after rebate.
I'm hesitant because I looked at one at a local shop and the wood was kinda crappy and the thing had some wierd ass serial number code scanner box on the receiver.
Just seemed like a huge departure from the Marlin model I once had.
Anyone have one?
Should I just search out an affordable older used Marlin.

I have a remlin 1895cb that works well, good wood fit and finish. You need to inspect in person to make sure not a lemon. Then only issue I have had with mine is the lever plunger was not holding lever closed, so I took it out and cleaned the lever and polished it a little and that fixed the issue. All new Marlin's have the QR code on receiver.
