new trapdoor
picked this cut down rifle up the other day. made in 1878.
some one made themselves an 1874 carbine....did a halfway decent job too.
so far as to put an almost correct front sight back on it. which isn't the easiest thing in the world to do.
the down side is they cut up a real nice rifle stock..that has some decent cartouches on it.
and here's one of my other trapdoor. a model 1873 rifle from 1875.Last edited by brian; September 26th, 2012 at 05:26 PM.

Re: new trapdoor
We have a cut-down rifle that is a 1873 and could have been with Cook when he went to Custer's relief. Makes you sick but they were just old guns to Bannerman when they cut them for better sales. One of mine even has been reamed to make a shotgun.
