Back when I lived in Indiana, I restored a 1941 slat grill willy's and a 1943 Ford GPW . I put the 1919 on the Pintle between the seats and in front of passengers seat.

Per Wikipedia .A modern gun turret is generally a weapon mount that houses the crew or mechanism of a projectile-firing weapon and at the same time lets the weapon be aimed and fired in some degree of azimuth and elevation (cone of fire). It has no protection. No crew to run it. Its not on a ship.It does spin and can be locked in 18 positions. The arms that hold the M60 pintle can be adjusted up, down, in and out. Now I call it a turret because you can turn to left and right in a 360 circle. Some may say its a weapons mount and it is. Now here is a weapons ring on my diesel jeep heavily modified. Hence gun mount , yup ,gun turret yup, no protection thou. I didn't want to put all that extra weight on it. A modern gun turret is generally a rotating weapon platform
I could have bought a NOS ring for my fifty for 400.00 about 6 yrs ago.
    I'm so pissed I didnt.

$400 would have been a great price. I had to pay 1600 for mine and it came from Ohio. Its a m66 ring off of a deuce and 1/2. I skeletonized it took out 125 pounds.

I build a trailer for the gun turret ,it has 4 tongue jacks on it. When the tires come off the ground. Game and fish consider it to be a table.

No it's not. I PM Mr. Brown and come to find out I do know him. You see the last time I had seen Mr. Brown we were out of Indian country and had to split up. I haven't hurd from him so I thought he was dead. Now I know. But looking back at his posts. Whoever was questioning his integrity and skills should reconsider.

Those are standard NDT's on it from Coker tire.

Yes it is. The post sample M2 and mount belong to CDS Arms (one of their rental guns). I had my own semi 1919A4 with a crank trigger but sold it to raise money for night vision which I use a lot more. Now I just have a 2x4 and PVC prop on the jeep with a canvas travel wrap over it so it looks like I have a gun on it at least.

When I had a deuce I really wanted a gun ring but that $1600-ish price tag held me back. Long gone are the days of plentiful cheap gun rings that aren't torched to hell.
