Question Best home defense gun for an apartment

So I am downsizing and moving to an apartment in Bucks County (thank god I'm finally leaving Philly). My old house was a single so I use to have my Glock 41 with Trijcon HD Night Sights and a Streamlight TLR-2 and my Colt CRE-18 for home defense. I know the rifle is out of the question now, but I was thinking about picking up a Mossberg 930 SPX to replace the rifle.

My question is should I buy the Mossberg to replace the rifle and if so what kind of ammo would you recommend to prevent over penetration? Or should I just stick with my Glock 41 (Current Ammo: Federal 230 Grain Hyrdashok) and save the money for something also.

Last I knew, all bullets will overpenetrate, but shotguns do it best... because bird shot is for birds, buck shot (#4 at minimum) and slugs are the only thing I'd use in one for defense.

Pistol first, rifle second, no need to buy anything else, IMO.

.50 BMG super tactical assault sniper rifle. Even if you miss the intruder will die from shockwave. So will your walls and neighbors. Triple win.

Hmm, a bb gun wont over penetrate ha ha. Likely shotgun IMHO.

I would stick with the Glock and get some bear spray. Sprayed a charging black bear two years ago, and it really turned an ran when it got a dose of it. I have my pistol and bear spray on the night table.

Bear spray is actually less potent than pepper spray. Bear spray is usually 1-2% OC concentration.... Pepper spray is 10% or higher. A bear might be bigger, but bear spray is meant to scare the bear off, not to incapacitate it.

    Specs from Mace.com

Bear spray. 2% concentration and up to 35 feet.

Pepper Gel Spray. 1.4 % concentration and range up to 18 feet.

Short barrel 12 gauge with #7 1/2 or # 8 birdshot can be effective enough but #6 high brass is probably more than sufficient. They will take out anything in apartment size range without penetrating walls into other apartments.

If you have a few minutes this is pretty informative.
