question about gunbroker termination (voluntary)
Hopefully someone can help me. I signed up to gunbroker last month. Bought a handgun through the site. But I am realizing that this purchase was a one time deal, and that I will not be using it as much as I would like to be.
I keep reading the terms of service and such, but can not find any info on terminating my account, on a good note. It is a great service, but it doesn't fit me. I won't be using it enough to warrant staying with the service.
Are there any penalties for early withdrawal from the service? Like I said, I can not find a straight answer in the user agreement.
Any info would help.
Thanks,
PA45ACP

Re: question about gunbroker termination (voluntary)
Last time I checked (and used GB) it was free for the "bidder" similar to Egay. Has not cose me a cent to use it and I've bought a few items on there.

Just leave your account go fallow. You can always go back to it if you choose later. I have only used my account 18 times in all the years I have had it.

Re: question about gunbroker termination (voluntary)
It is free for the bidder, so might as well just let the account lapse. I am sure they have a setup where if you don't login for so long, eventually they will nix the account.

+1 for keep it open. You'll never know when you'll want to purchase something else.
If you're a collector/enthusiast it is simply good sense to be able to have the whole country's gun collection at your fingertips rather than waiting for a "deal" at a gun show or having to listen to a gun shop employee's expertise.
It doesn't cost you anything to just have it there like the others said.

I don't understand. You won't be using it enough to justify having an account that requires no action on your part to maintain, doesn't cost you a penny, and may be useful for you sometime in the future?
The way you present the issue, it seems like you think you are paying an ongoing fee or something for this "service". If your gunbroker account is like most others, this is not true.

Re: question about gunbroker termination (voluntary)
They must have a site adminstration that you can contact. Ask them to close it. I don't see the need for the snide comments about the OP's wanting to close his account, maybe he just wants it closed. As you guys pointed out it costs him to nothing to keep it open, just as it costs you nothing for him to close it. Its his choice, he asked if anyone had info on how to close the account, not what we thought about GB accounts in general.

Re: question about gunbroker termination (voluntary)
I think gunbroker actually does have a fee for buyers, or at least a refundable deposit; $1.00. I had to give them a credit card number to sign up, which they then charged a dollar to verify validity. Now I get a monthly email telling me my GB account $1.00 in it. If I cancel my account, I get my buck back. And to think, I couldn't been getting interest on that dollar all these years and be up to $1.0000573, or maybe just bought a double cheese burger at Mickey D's
You are a straight white man. You don't get to be the victim, sweetie.
