I was there yesterday too. I walked up the lane to check out the place.
There was trash every where, old used targets that people leave.
Pieces of computer, cans, and bottles (glass as well as plastic) shot up on the range floor and nowhere near an impact area.
Someone put a big rock out on the range and shot it to pieces, also nowhere near an impact area. You could only guess where the ricochets went.
There were two holes in the new roof that covers the firing points.
With black paint, someone tagged the new concrete under the roof.

It's no wonder the Game Commission website the range is closed indefinitely.

It would have been better to leave them open so responsible people would be there.

I talked with the Game Commission, the damage was done during a period when the range was open and supposedly "responsible people" were there.

    https://www.media.pa.gov/Pages/Game-...spx?newsid=396

To enable hunters and target shooters to make up for lost opportunity due to ranges being closed, the Game Commission has extended the life of 2019-20 shooting-range permits, which have a printed expiration date of June 30, 2020. The permits will be considered valid to use on state game lands shooting ranges until Aug. 31, 2020.

You will use it more since you live closer so you will get your money's worth. But the dues are like $160 year, there are some membership background checks now or something like that. If you went 1x a week thats $3 per trip, and save gas on the trip out.
They have orientation tours on Sundays at noon, its on their website. http://www.dcfsa.org/
Down side is they do not allow rapid fire, 5 rounds in mags, wheel guns, and its more set up for target shooters than practicing self defense drawing and shooting scenarios.
Big..., Is DF&S still closed do to Wolf's poor decision making ability? They're website still says it is.
