Re: Eating my Words - $10 a box 9mm
Yes, I never let Emptymag forget it.
Hahaha!
I think the lowest I got 9mm for during the Trump years was $6.70 or something from Aim Surplus. I have so much 9mm now I don't know what to do with it all. Probably need to buy a Sten gun or something.
I have seen it's now pushing back on the $12 mark which all things considered is not too bad. If it drops below $10, I will probably do like 5-6 years ago and start buying in more even though I don't really need it other than the brass to reload someday.

Re: Eating my Words - $10 a box 9mm
Hopefully. I have plenty and can wait, but might start stacking again at $200 a case. I don*t think we will see the $160 or so a case that it was in 2019 because of the increase cost of components, shipping and just about everything else that has gone up since then so $200 seems like a good # to me.
Makes me wonder how much Walmart getting out of the ammo business hurt the low prices. They normally had the low price that other stores had to compete with.

I don't think I've bought any 9mm since Walmart dropped it.
And I have virtually none on hand. Don't know where I can buy it by the box now (in person) and not get screwed.I called to check my ZIP CODE!....DY-NO-MITE!!!

Re: Eating my Words - $10 a box 9mm
I haven't bought any 9mm in a few years.
I'm doing a range day this week.
I should inventory what I have left.
Thing is, I buy only in bulk.
Early on in this thread, it was mentioned that Aluminum cased ammo was underpowered.
In 2000, I was buying .357 sig aluminum cased ammo.for pistol classes I was taking.
I never had a failure to fire or extract. When Blazer stopped making that caliber with AL cases, I bought a .40bbl for the G32 and ran Alum cased .40 for another half dozen classes. No issues. I bought 500 rounds of Alum cased .45acp and it runs ok.
Back to 9mm, I'll be shooting a few hundred and will inventory my stores on what's left. If I'm down to a couple K, I might order more. I see on Ammoseek, some is .20 / round and a bit under if you want steel cased or reman.
I don't reload 9mm but worked some .357sig and 10mms.
I've read somewhere that the US has sent a lot of ammo to Ukraine which could affect production for the private sector if the ammo mfgs prioritize .government contracts. Maybe or maybe not.
Buy cheap.
I should shoot more.Opinions are like anal apertures. They all stink but mine.
