    Default Electing a new Sheriff

Hi gang. With Sheriff Phil retiring, we'll be electing a new Sheriff this year.

Deputy Sheriff Kerry Welsh has already announced his candidacy. From what I've read he is a former/retired PSP Trooper and has been serving as a Supervisor in Dingman Township in addition to his Deputy Sheriff position. Sheriff Phil has endorsed him. Have no idea where he stands on issues near and dear to us.

If anyone has more info on Kerry Welsh or any other Sheriff candidates that may emerge, please post it here.

Kerry Welsh ran unopposed in the primary on the Republican line....so we'll see if anyone runs against him on in the general election.

Again, if anyone has more info on Kerry Welsh or any other Sheriff candidates that may emerge, please post it here.

Old thread I know... but hopefully Sheriff Welsh continues Bueki's pro-2A stance. I've had several face to face discussions with Sheriff Bueki in the past and was sad to see him retire.

As for 2A, the only thing I've found was this old statement when Welsh was Chief Deputy:

Bueki wasn’t exactly 100 percent 2a. He would never sign for suppressors. Welsh is a friend of s friend who says he’s going to be awesome and this guy leans so hard right I look moderate.

He would have signed off for me. I spoke to him about it on two occasions. I ended up buying two suppressors, but only after the ATF changed their policies not requiring CLEO sign off any more which made it a sort of moot point. But, he did stress to me that if he knew the individual well, then he wouldn't have any issues signing off on cans. He was very willing to sign my Form 4s.

The reason he stated he wouldn't in past was more of a blanket statement due to the stupid reasons people gave him; i.e. I want to shoot feral cats in my deed restricted neighborhood, etc.

But if Welsh is even more pro-2A than Bueki was, then I'm all for it.

Interesting. He always flat out told me no. Part of the reason I hoped he’d show at the mrgc nra day so he could have a stroke when he saw them. Lol

You should be getting notice in the mail any day now then. My last renewal under Bueki took about 10 working days before I got notice that my LTCW was ready for pickup.
