Range to shoot 300+ yards
Anyone know of a range that goes out past 300 yards, that will accept new members, or take guests?
My current range goes out to 300 yards, and 9 times out of 10 that satisfies me. But I have a few rifles that I would like to stretch their legs, so to speak.
I know Greensburg and McDonald have 500 and 600 yd ranges, but I contacted both and they won't let me in.
If it means anything, I'm not looking for a range to regularly use... Maybe just 3 or 4 times a year, depending on how well I can shoot past 300.

How far are you willing to travel for a couple time a year when you want to shoot long range? Mifflin County Sportsmen's Association is accepting members.
Rifle Range – Two pavilions (ONE RANGE) – Left pavilion - 25, 50, 100, 200, 300, 500 & 1,000 yds. Right pavilion - 25, 50, 100, 150, 200, 300 & 500 yds. Should have 4 wheel drive beyond 200 yds. Safety system in place.

2 1/2 hours isn't ideal, but I guess beggars can't be choosers.

Re: Range to shoot 300+ yards
I believe the Iron City "gun club" out near Pgh. international airport has a 400+ yard range. It's expensive, and the ownership is less than reputable IMO. They've had some recent legal problems involving the "club" so it's hard to say how long it may be open.
Also Ridgeway Rifle club has a long distance range, but that's probably also far from you. Also Reade Range out near Altoona, but I'm not sure if they're open to membership or how they operate.

Reade range looks perfect!
I think I just have to figure out whose butt I have to kiss to let me shoot there.

That's a good point. At our range in New Holland, if you're hitting the road instead of the 200 yd target, I've heard them say "Your dangerous. You need to zero in your scope/rifle."
No offense to anyone who has had that problem - but you do indeed have to zero your rifle at some distance and then have the holds for distance.- bamboomaster
