Yeah Right, unless you have one that has a custom fit bushing. That is on that is fit on it's internal dimensions to the barrel and its external dimensions to the slide. Think Baer or Clark custom.

Unless it's a Springfield with one of those stupid guide rods that requires a paperclip to remove it. Then you stare menacingly at it until your replacement full length or GI guide rod assembly arrives....
Try using just your hands on a bull barrel bushing.

Be careful, 1911's tend to breed in your gun safe. Before you know it, you'll have 10 of them.

Owning 1911's is like eating Pringles...once you pop, you can't stop. However, the "45" I'm currently saving my pennies to buy wasn't invented by JMB...

Hey DGO! Buy that bad-boy right now! Ummm, and we can order those from exactly where????

OP, to avoid making an idiot mark, just practice on a friend's gun that already has the idiot mark. Ask him to show you how he did it. Otherwise, it's a way to lose friends and piss-off people if you borrow a pistol and somehow manage to leave such a mark. It's sort of like the reaction you would expect if you "keyed" your friend's truck...

And if you're gonna get a "bushing wrench" instead of using a JM (Jefferson/Monticello), you may as well get a "handiracker" too:

Yeah, the tool is called a plastic "guitar pick". They are 4 or 5 for about $1 or so at your local music store. Been using them for years. Works for me, and there are no APR interest rates either..
