Camping around Macungie?
I'll be in the Macungie area for 5 days in April. I'm going to the MSF Ridercoach training at Blackman's Cycle. I would like to save some money and tent camp instead of get a $100+/night hotel room.
Any suggestions on Campgrounds or even someplace I can just pitch a tent for 4 nights? Right now I'm looking at Quakerwoods Campground as a possibility. I've even considered asking Blackman's if I can "squat" on their property during the training, that would be ideal for me but I'm not sure it's something they would go for.The Hostler

I've visited people who were camping at Quakerwoods and it seemed fine. Well maintained and clean from what I could see as a visitor. My friends liked it.

Make sure they're open for the season. April is still pretty early, even down that way.

This place is right off of rt. 100 . Rt. 100 will take you right to Blackmans. I also took my safety course at Blackmans. If you decide to stay at the Lazy K, let me know I live just a few minutes away. If you bring your bike we can go for a ride. BTW you can tent camp or bring a camper. I drive by the place all the time. Some people live their year round.
Right across Rt. 100 is a Pizza shop and within walking distance is a Sunoco and a restaurant called the Americana. They are OC friendly. A little farther up the street is a Walmart. Since you will have some sort of wheels getting around would be easy.
The ride for you would be about 14 miles one way and less than twenty minutes.Last edited by Daycrawler; February 20th, 2017 at 12:00 AM.

Quakerwoods is a decent campground, it's less than a mile from our house.
Blackman's is about 15 min from there taking the back way, and it's a nice rural ride. There are some good bike cruising roads in the area too.
Feel free to PM me if you have any questions.
