Help Identify A Peep Sight...
I could use some help identifying this peep sight please! I picked up this Stevens 86C tube fed bolt action 22LR about a month ago. It's in great shape and a joy to shoot, and it came with a peep-sight that was missing the aperture. I can't for the life of me identify the sight to purchase the correct aperture!
There are absolutely no markings on it. It appears someone removed some stock wood to make room for the sight mounting bracket, so I don't think it's original. I've tried apertures from my other Lyman and Mossberg peeps, but none fit. I tried some Google foo, and the best I could come up with was a Marlin 12 sight, based on the swooping bevel of the mounting base, however, the model 12 doesn't have the same left/right lockdown nuts or aperture attachment point...
Any thoughts? Thanks!!
