Wesley Chapel homeowner fires on three intruders, killing two of them
He was playing video games when he heard someone breaking into his home, according to the Pasco County Sheriff's Office.

The two intruders who were shot and killed by a Wesley Chapel homeowner were identified by the Pasco County Sheriff's Office as Luis Casado, left, and Khyle Durham, both 21.

WESLEY CHAPEL * Two armed intruders were shot dead and a third was wounded when a homeowner fired on them early Friday, according to the Pasco County Sheriff*s Office.

The homeowner said he was inside his home playing video games when at about 12:43 a.m. he heard the glass of his laundry room door shatter, according to a sheriff*s report. He saw an arm reach inside to unlock the door. Then the homeowner said he saw a masked man walk in and aim a gun at him.

The homeowner said he grabbed his Glock 9mm pistol, which was just a few feet away, and fired several times at the intruder. He saw the intruder fall down, the report said.

Then a second masked intruder entered the house, and the homeowner said he fired at him, too. That intruder also collapsed.

The masked men were aiming their weapons at the homeowner when they were shot, said Pasco Sheriff Chris Nocco.

Luis Casado, 21, was one of two armed intruders killed by a Wesley Chapel homeowner during an attempted home invasion, according to the Pasco County Sheriff's Office.

The homeowner said he then saw a third intruder enter, the report said. The homeowner started firing again, but said his Glock jammed. Then he said he grabbed a Kriss Vector 10mm semi-automatic rifle, but didn*t fire it. The third intruder had run away.

The homeowner said he called his neighbor for help and told him he had just shot two intruders. While the homeowner was on the phone with 911, he said, he heard his neighbor yelling outside: The neighbor had detained the third intruder, who was wounded, at gunpoint in the front yard. The homeowner went outside to help.

*The victim advised he shot all three intruders because they were armed and forced entry into his home and he believed they were going to kill him,* said an arrest report.

When deputies arrived, the two intruders were pronounced dead at the scene. The third was taken to the hospital for medical treatment.

He was identified as Jeremiah Tramel, 19, and was still in a hospital on Friday, according to the Pasco Sheriff*s Office. The two intruders who were killed were Luis Casado and Khyle Durham, both 21.

Tramel was questioned at Tampa General Hospital but denied involvement, deputies said. Then he told them that Casado wanted to rob the homeowner, according to his arrest report, so he rode with the two men. They wore masks and gloves and armed themselves.

When he heard gunfire, Tramel said he went into the home and ended up getting shot, the report said.

Khyle Durham, 21, was one of two armed intruders killed by a Wesley Chapel homeowner during an attempted home invasion, according to the Pasco County Sheriff's Office.

Nocco said investigators asked the homeowner why he may have been targeted. He told them he posted a lot of photos of his guns on social media and that may have been the reason why. Nocco said he appears to know the intruders, but did not elaborate.

*This is not a total random situation,* he said.

The sheriff said the intruders who died have histories of violent crime.

*This is not out of the norm of their activities to use violence,* he said.

Casado has faced charges such as attempting to flee and elude an officer, driving under the influence, possession of a controlled substance, misdemeanor possession of marijuana and resisting an officer without violence, according to Pasco County jail records. Durham has faced charges of auto burglary, misdemeanor battery, resisting an officer without violence, trespassing and numerous charges of violating his probation, records show.

The sheriff said the surviving intruder, Tramel, faces charges of armed home invasion and two counts of felony murder. Under the state*s felony murder statute, homicide charges can be filed if someone dies in the commission of a crime. In this case, that would be the deaths of his accused accomplices during the home invasion. The Pinellas-Pasco State Attorney*s Office also will investigate.

Sheriff*s officials did not identify the homeowner because of their interpretation of Marsy*s law, a constitutional amendment that is designed to protect crime victims but also deprives the public of information that has historically been provided in Florida. The agency did not release the address of the shooting, saying only that it took place in the vicinity of the intersection of State Road 54 and State Road 56, near the Tampa Premium Outlets outdoor mall.

Man arrested after being shot at friend's home
One man was hurt and then arrested after a shooting at a Holly Township home, the Michigan State Police reported.

The incident occurred Sunday night on the 11000 block of Dixie Highway.

Police reported that a man had invited a friend over, who arrived to the home intoxicated.

"Later in the evening an argument occurred on the back porch of the home after the visitor was asked to leave," the state police tweeted. "During the argument, the visitor pulled a knife and went towards the homeowner who was in possession of a registered pistol at the time."

The homeowner, who police said had a concealed pistol license, fired a single shot, which struck the other man. Both men called 911 at about 10:30 p.m. Sunday.

The injured man was taken to a hospital for treatment. The homeowner was not hurt.

"A records check of the visitor revealed a felony warrant for OWI 3rd and a aggravated domestic violence warrant," the state police reported. "He was turned over to Oakland County Sheriff."

The investigation into the shooting was continuing, and results were to be sent to the Oakland County Prosecutor's Office for review.

Naked intruder shot and killed by Scottsdale homeowner
SCOTTSDALE, AZ (3TV/CBS 5) -- Scottsdale police are investigating after a homeowner shot and killed a naked intruder on his property on Wednesday night.

The incident first started when Scottsdale police responded to a report of a man, who police later identified as 18-year-old Cameron Yoe, trying to enter a house in the area of Alma School and Happy Valley roads around 9 p.m.

The suspect ran off, but police received another call from a resident at 10:50 p.m. about an intruder shot in the area of Pima and Happy Valley roads.

When police arrived on the scene, they found Yoe dead inside the home.

According to police, a 41-year-old resident was on his property with his wife and three children when their dog alerted them to activity in the home. FRENCHVILLE, Pa. (WTAJ) — A woman is accused of entering a home overnight in Clearfield County after she got her car stuck in the driveway leading to the homeowner shooting at her.

According to the report, a woman had attempted to turn around in the homeowner’s driveway just before 2 a.m. on Jan. 11 and got stuck in the snow. The suspect then walked onto the porch and into the home on Buck Run Road. The homeowner was asleep on the second floor when she was awoken by a noise downstairs.

When going downstairs they saw the woman standing in the living room and told her to get out of the home. The woman refused to leave and attacked the homeowner. They both fell to the floor, police report, before the homeowner was able to fight off the woman.

The homeowner then reportedly ran out of the house and got a handgun from their vehicle. The woman then followed them outside and attempted to come at the homeowner who then fired a shot from the gun, grazing the woman’s left shoulder.

The woman was treated by EMS for a minor injury.

Police report they are continuing to investigate the incident.

Homeowner in Oklahoma fatally shoots an intruder five years after he shot another burglar
A homeowner shot and killed a man breaking into his property in Oklahoma five years after he shot another intruder.

Donald Stovall was fatally shot after he climbed through a bathroom window at the residence in a Tulsa suburb on Tuesday morning, police captain Karen Tipler said.

Homeowner Charles Sweeney reportedly retrieved a firearm and confronted Stovall at the house, located in the 4900 block of South Columbia Avenue.

He said he did what he felt he had to do to protect himself and feels 'no sympathy' for the deceased.

Sweeney told FOX23: 'He comes into view, and BLAHM, that 9 millimeter is real loud inside the house.

'He brought this on himself, I have no sympathy.

He said noises coming from his bathroom woke him up and the first thought that ran through his head was someone was breaking into his house.

Sweeney said he shot the man in the chest and called police.

'When he clenched up his chest he says ‘I'm sorry I'm sorry I'm sorry’ he retreats back to the bathroom and he tried to get out the same window but he didn't make it,' he added.

The shooting on Tuesday came just over five years after the homeowner was involved in a similar situation.

In October 2013, he shot one of two intruders at his home, seriously injuring the man named Michael Watts. He survived the shooting.

Both burglars subsequently pleaded guilty to charges in that case, according to court records, Tulsa World reported.

Sweeney added: 'This is the second time I've shot someone, and I've escorted at gunpoint at least half a dozen people off the property.

'He [Stovall] got inside the interior of my house and I didn't know if he had a weapon and I thought my life was in danger I shot him, and I'll do it again'.

The shooting was reported at around 9 am and emergency responders pronounced Stovall dead at the scene.

Captain Tipler said: 'If they (residents) feel that there is a danger to themselves or someone else who may be in the home from an intruder, then, yes, they are within their legal rights to defend themselves within their home'.

It is not known if words were exchanged or whether the two knew each other. The case remains under investigation.

Alleged intruder shot by mom left a trail of blood, making it easy for Sugar Land police to find him

SUGAR LAND, Texas — An attempted home invasion was stopped by an armed mother who opened fire on the intruder early Friday, Sugar Land police said.

The woman had her 8-year-old child with her in the home — neither was physically hurt.

The suspect, identified as Santana Anthony Hudson, 21, survived and was taken to Memorial Hermann Hospital. He was arrested and charged with burglary of a habitation and unlawfully carrying a weapon.

The shooting was reported at about 4:30 a.m. in the 200 block of Shadow Wood, in the Sugar Mill subdivision, according to city officials.

According to Assistant Chief of Police Michelle Allen, the woman told police she was asleep when she heard a noise at her back door. She grabbed a gun and found a man had broken a window and was trying to get in. She opened fire on the suspect, shooting him in the chest.

The man fled the scene, going less than a block away through neighbors' backyards, but responding officers managed to track him down because of the trail of blood he left behind, KHOU 11's Michelle Choi reported.

The woman told police she didn't recognize the suspect.

Police said they are reviewing surveillance video from the area to make sure no other suspects were involved.
