Trumps 3 choices.
Trump's shortlist to fill the late Justice Antonin Scalia's seat is said to include*Judge William Pryor of Alabama,*Judge Neil Gorsuch of Colorado and*Judge Thomas Hardiman of Pennsylvania.
Any thoughts on these three?

Do not know much about them but rumors are that Gorsuch is the favorite. I did some reading up on him and seems he's a Conservative and very strict Constitutionalist. Sounds like a good choice.

Re: Trumps 3 choices.
They are all Bush appointments. Hardiman definitely has a pro 2nd amendment stance from what I've seen he had dissenting opinion in a NJ case in 2013 where the court upheld the need to prove a "justification" for a weapons permit.

Hardiman is a good pick for guns, but has other issues(which the pro-gun stance may outweigh).

Re: Trumps 3 choices.
All are fine on my ticket although I think I'd lean Gorsuch or Pryor.
Just a sidebar - I didn't realize until yesterday that President Trump's (love typing those words) older sister Maryanne Trump Barry is a judge on the court of appeals third circuit

Re: Trumps 3 choices.
I thought the Judicial Branch was supposed to be a separate, er... "branch" of government.
I'm glad that we didn't lose to the libtards that would have made things far worse. However, I hope that we can MAGA in terms of the vision of the Founders that agreed that an essential component of the government of a free people is that it must have checks and balances in power. Do some research, did George Washington think you should have any influence on who the next supreme court nominee is?
Now, before you get mad at me, I realize that we have to deal with things as they are. Still, I hope we keep the ideal in mind then deciding the course of the future of this nation. We, and the POTUS, have more power than we should. George Washington had more power than he should have had, and was offered more. He chose the hard right over the easy wrong and saw that he was a part of something bigger than himself, and he chose to take the best interests of the nation in mind.
I hope we can make America great in a way that George Washington would approve of.
