Default need a local 1911 gun smith (upper bucks)

I have a SA TRP champion from the late 90's that has just never shot right...there are always failures to feed/eject that are independent of the magazine/ammp I use. The trigger isn't that great either. Its crisp, but heavy. Seems like it is about 7-8 lbs or so. I also want new sights put on it, and they are not doing that kind of work till March.

I've contacted SA about this, and naturally they're great...they are having me send it in on their dime, problem is it's FedEx and it is damn near impossible for me to get to a fedex place, than I would also need to take time off from work to receive it.

As a result I am thinking of having someone local address these issues. I don't mind paying for it to avoid the hassle of shipping it back and forth and to have all the work done at once.

Who is the most competent 1911 guy in this area?

I had work done at ready aim fire in Bristol. A bit of a drive from upper bucks. But I was very happy with it. I did my own trigger job (which really wasn't all that hard) but had them mill new sights into a colt 1991a1.
This was a few years ago, but I think it was around 100$ with the sight. I could be wrong. I no longer have the gun.
I'd call ahead to make sure a gunsmith will be there if you choose to go that route.

You could hit up one of our members here, Les Sheaffer of Sheaffer Precision Gunworks, in Kempton, just outside of Allentown. He does great work on 1911's and he even has his own line of hand built 1911's. Same thing though, it maybe a bit of a drive for you though.

I've had work done at mason arms in Chalfont, they are at the intersection of 202 and county line road behind pep boys. Not sure what they can do for 1911's but it's worth a phone call to them to find out.

You might also talk to Sean at CDI in Chalfont. He pointed me in the right direction a few years ago on a 1911 project.
