Absolutely do not take ANY handguns or long guns to(except for legit sporting purposes - hunting, sanctioned shoots, etc): NJ, MD, DC, HI

Absolutely do not take any HANDGUNS to: NY

Most of the other states have some sort of means to possess some sort of firearm in some fashion or another.

Lets put it this way, Canada has more legal provisions to bring a long gun into that country than New Jersey has for other residents of the US of A.

Taking an unloaded cased handgun to Maryland for target shooting is no problem. Also have checked handgun at BWI airport without incident numerous times. Of course carry in Maryland is out of the question. New Jersey however is another matter.
Right of citizens to bear arms ...shall not be questioned.

NJ does not have mandatory gun registration....only voluntary. Who would do that?

Why would anyone vacation in NJ? I live 15 minutes from the NJ border and the thought of driving over there gives me anxiety. Living in a town full of transplants from NJ is bad enough.
