CDC's latest report "No es Bueno" for Gun Control
CDC Study: Use of Firearms for Self-Defense is ‘Important Crime Deterrent’
Gun rights advocates have long defended their right to bear arms out of a need for self-defense. And now they have a new report from the Centers for Disease Control that says they make a darn good point.
The CDC report said that most incidents involving the use of a gun do not result in a fatality
Researchers found that the majority of firearm deaths are not from homicide, but from suicide.
“Whether gun restrictions reduce firearm-related violence is an unresolved issue,” and there is no evidence “that passage of right-to-carry laws decrease or increase violence crime.” It also stated that proposed “gun turn-in programs are ineffective.”

Re: CDC's latest report "No es Bueno" for Gun Control
The point being, none of the arguements presented by the Left hold water or for that matter present any evidence that they work. Gun Control does not work....Period.
At some point, over a prolonged period of time, the facts start to present themselves in a manner which becomes undeniable, to all sides in the fight. We know (Right) that gun control does not work. They(Left) need to be shown that gun control does not work. My presumption in this fight between the two is that the left know we are right, but does not want to allow the facts to present themselves, because everyone else will eventually, given time, see we are right.
The push to eliminate as many gun control laws, regulations, acts, infringments, is the only way we will fully regain some semblance of our 2nd Amendment Rights.....its do or die trying.

I wonder. Before the invention of the gun.
Were politicians in places such ancient Greece, ancient Rome, mid-evil Europe, the Aztecs, etc... Pushing for sword, spear, or bow control as hard as our politicians are pushing for gun control ?--ET

Re: CDC's latest report "No es Bueno" for Gun Control
The last vestiges of gun ownership in the world are right here in the USA. The British have been emasculated and had their arms rights whittled away over the last 100 years. Most other coutries that are developed have virtually eliminated the peoples right to bear arms. Those countries which still have gun ownership are constantly being bombarded with Liberal ideas and narratives which have proven time after time to fail, yet they still keep beating the same drum....definition of insanity.
Not only do we need to retake the lost ground over the last 8 years, we need to regroup and abolish the laws which have brought us to this present day scenario....start by abolishing the NFA.

Well, we know that Bowie knives were outlawed in many states as a result of their increased popularity following the Vidalia Sandbar Fight, daggers were outlawed because they were caried by anarchists in the early 1900s and switchblades were outlawed after the movie The Wild One popularized the knives with biker gangs. I also recall that belt knives were prohibited or restricted by the British Navy to prevent fights among sailors.
These types of measures have been around for a long time.Sed ego sum homo indomitus

Headline to the link......"CDC's study will not make advocates of gun control happy"......Since when did the true facts of the issue ever make the anti-gun zealots happy?

Interesting that this article is dated 1/6/2017, yet the study mentioned as "part of 23 executive orders he signed in January" is from 2013...
